Why I Chose Fright Attendant

I chose Fright Attendant because horror has always interested me as more than a genre built around monsters, violence, and jump scares. The stories that tend to actually stay with me are typically the ones that reveal something about trauma, grief, or the ways people respond when they are pushed beyond what feels safe and their fight-or-flight is activated. I want my website to explore those ideas while still having fun with the darker side of storytelling!

Fright Attendant will examine horror through the combined perspectives of psychology and storytelling. This site will explore why certain stories frighten us, how filmmakers and writers create suspense and dread, and what horror can reveal about human behavior at large. Posts may include movie analysis, discussions of horror themes and characters, storytelling techniques, and explorations of the psychology behind common fears.

My goal is to create a site for people who enjoy horror but also enjoy thinking about why it works on them and others. Readers should be able to come away with something interesting whether they are horror fans, aspiring writers, movie lovers, or simply curious about why a particular scene or story managed to get right under their skin. Fright Attendant will be a place to look at horror closely without losing the fun of being spooked.
